As you can see there was no reaction when the vinegar was added to the silicate sand.
As you can see the aragonite sand began do disolve and foam up when the vinegar was added vs the silicate sand that just became wet.
The aragonite sand that I used in this test was the infamous Home Depot Southdown Tropical Play Sand. Regretfully its my understanding that this sand is only sold in the North east region of the US. I have heard of it as far south as Northern Virginia. Another source for this sand is a website that specializes in aragonite sand sales.
